Best Patios in the coolest neighbourhood in Vancouver
The construction of the skytrain expansion, its walk-able and pedestrian friendly streets, and the large amount of local shops and restaurant, has made of Mount Pleasant one of the hottest neighbourhoods in Vancouver. Young professionals and new families are claiming it their home, and bringing a new life to it.
Dine in restrictions are still being enforced, and with the temperatures picking we are currently approaching into our second pandemic summer. This means that one of the best ways to enjoy our city is patio dining!
If there something good this pandemic has brought is the increase on patios and the lively atmosphere they have brought to Vancouver street. I can only hope this becomes the norm for every summer from now and on!

1.Tocador — 2610 Main Street

From its colourful tables, to the tropical vibe from the straw umbrellas and plants, grabbing a nice cocktail and sharing some Latin plates in this beautiful restaurant, certainly takes away the pain from not being able to travel this year.
2.Burdock and Co — 2702 Main Street

The patio is conveniently located on the side street providing a calm and relaxed experience. The gravel on the floor, the high plans, the centenary lighting, and the back wall mural gives you the impression of being in a fancy back yard in Vancouver.
Their food selection is focused on elevating locally sourced ingredients making them the true stars of the dish.
3. El Camino — 3250 Main Street

Mexican cuisine is their speciality, and it will truly not disappoint you at any time of the day, from brunch to dinner! From tacos to burritos, and with delicious plates to share, it will make happy any Mexican aficionado.
Their tropical plants, green umbrellas and wood fencing will help you relax and soak into the chill mindset of a sunset in a Mexican beach.
4. Anh and Chi — 3388 Main Street

The greenery from the street expand into the patio transporting you into a true garden, while you are protected from the street noise by wood planters, and covered from the sun by umbrellas. Green and fresh is the immediate feeling you get which blends perfectly with their fresh an innovative take on Vietnamese cuisine. Their cocktails are true stars, my personal favourite the Nguyen’s Negroni
5. Liberty Cafe + Coco et Olive — Main + 21st Street

City of Vancouver has planned some temporary plazas for this summer to encourage lively neighbourhoods and provide public urban spaces. Luckily for the area residents , they have decided to locate one on Main and 21st where two of the most charismatic coffee shops in the area are located.
Ideal for a morning coffee with a pastry while scrolling the news or reading a book in this city oasis while the kids play around
